Hip Hop Lost a Visual Legend

Today, all of urban culture mourns the death of a creative legend.

May we never forget the impact he has made by being one of the first African American film directors to visually represent the raw, urban, ghetto culture on the flat screen, alongside other creative individuals, who opened the door for storylines and visuals on hip hop music videos. 

John Singleton was known best for directing Boyz n the Hood, Higher Learning, Poetic Justice, and Baby Boy.
