Pop Bottles: Desiigner Drops “L.O.D.” EP and Visual for “Priice Tag” On His 21st Birthday
The music industry welcomed yet another high-profile release from this year’s line up of highly anticipated music releases. On March 4th, G.O.O.D. Music rapper Desiigner surprised fans by dropping his secret weapon – a seven track ‘L.O.D.’ Ep. Although Desiigner’s studio debut had minimal rollout, it still curated major buzz. Desiigner’s rise to fame seemed instantaneous after his breakout hit, “Panda,” quickly jumped to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His profile rose even further when it was announced that he had signed with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label and was added to the roster.
The surprise EP follows his New English mixtape that dropped in June of 2016. The “Life of Desiigner” project was originally set to drop last July in a different form. Originally “L.O.D.” was slated to be Desiigner’s debut album featuring “Timmy Turner,” which was billed in 2016 as the first single for Life Of Desiigner. The album is still nothing shy of all the GRRRAAAAAAAAAs we love! The overall project is a mix of trap head bangers accompanied with melodic love songs like “Destination.” There aren’t any guest features included, Desiigner decided to carry this pop up project solo.
The “Panda” rapper took to Instagram to share the album’s cover art featuring collage of photos from his family’s personal archive. The cover also includes — as a kid showing off his signature grin.
Following with his new L.O.D. EP on Friday (May 4), the 21-year old rapper accompanied the release with dropping a visual for “Priice Tag,” a track off of his latest EP. The Sebastian Sdagui-directed video is just as lit as the EP and as the intro track, it serves as a perfect turnt start up.Posted up in a mansion, Desiigner dances, crawls and jogs his way through the estate while the thumping Ronny J-produced track bumps in the background. In later scenes he catches up with some beautiful ladies and then turns up dancing with a group of lit kids.
