MTM Records’ Very Own Mercedes Mike Drops ‘Dedication’

Creating his distinctive mark in the Mecca of Hip Hop, Mercedes Mike developed a name for himself through his meaningful lyrical precision and relatable messages. Mike’s unique enticing sound quickly captures your attention. Born in the Bronx but from the stomping grounds of Queens, the multifaceted rhymer blends elements of soulful beats and classical opera samples. Utilizing life experiences and struggles for inspiration, this ingenious and unique process makes for timeless and authentic music that can be felt.

“My life experiences influenced me to tell my story through music. I feel like music has an interesting way of bringing people together, bringing awareness to certain issues and most importantly sharing your story for others to relate.”

Densely influenced by hip-hop pioneers such as Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, 50 cent, and Master P., Mike was not only musically motivated by these rap legends but as entrepreneurs. They inspired Mercedes Mike to build his own empire from the bottom up. He designed a one of a kind creative process that differentiates him as a an artist.

Back in 2009, Mercedes Mike launched his own independent record label, MTM Records, which stands for Motivation To Morals. Mike curated this platform to connect emerging artists and creatives to be innovative and push the culture. His ultimate goal in being successful is to eventually create jobs and opportunities for others to excel in life and stay motivated. Mike remains devoted to connecting with his listeners and other artists to deliver positive and inspirational music.

His debut EP, Dedication was hosted by DJ Super Star Jay and was premiered at NYC’s Quad Studios. With the rise of the digital era, creatives are more hands with their visuals. The Queens musician co-directed the first single off of his Dedication EP, “Gunz and Butter.” With this soulful wordsmith’s flow, it’s undeniable that Mercedes Mike is destined to be one of New York’s most salient emcees.

“I titled this project, Dedication because I wanted it to reflect what I was feeling. I remained dedicated and consistent to finish my first project in a timely manner. I used all my resources to put together a timeless tape that consisted of authentic music.”
