Marcel Alexander’s passion for the craft of making music began with writing poetry and free styling in a high school lunchroom. Born of the gritty streets of Queens, New York, and raised with the hospitality of Stone Mountain, Georgia, paved the way for a rising and promising career in rap for the artist. Poetry is the most common starting point for rappers in perfecting their lyrical precision while using the wordplay to freestyle over a beat whether made from banging on lunch tables or in the studio, helps establish ones unique flow.
Marcel has always been heavily influenced by music, taking pointers from artists such as Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, and Kanye West. Marcel’s lyrics and style of music have been contributed by a variety of genres like Jazz, R&B, Hip-Hop, and more.
Marcel latest release, “Got Nothing” featuring Th3rd, touches on perception. The “got nothing” concept comes from how as people we use social media to portray ourselves in a certain light but in reality we all are missing something whether it’s money, love or success. The lyrically talented artist also has his own brand ‘Live Life Lite’ which expresses someone within a society in which others may not have the desire to understand you. From the clothes he creates to the music he shares, his sole purpose for the brand is for everyone to understand how important their ideas are.
Whats next? Well according to Marcel, more videos will be dropping in the near future for his booming records, “EinnerGy” and “What’s Your Vice.” It doesn’t stop there though, he is also currently working on his ’96’ EP with SlowKings and Official Entertainment and will be dropping some new heat via his SoundCloud. Stay on look out!
