Interview with Moe Waveyy

How many tapes do you have out?
I have 7 free projects, I sell one, that’s called “Samples”. It’s on iTunes, Spotify and SoundCloud if anyone wants to hear it.

Which would you say is your strongest project?
Well I like a lot of them differently, but if I had to put someone on to my music I would definitely suggest that they checkout “Thoughts Of a Dreamer”, definitely that’s a classic. All my real fans fuck with that heavy. “Samples”, definitely “Samples”. The reason I chose those two is because as a whole those are the 2 projects that I feel you know portray like my best sound, and they have the best message in them. They’re also diverse but they have a nice consistent flow throughout the entire project. Definitely good listens.

Do you rock with any of the local brands here?
I want to definitely start, I just got to network with them more, because I’ll see them at events and they’ll show love but never like actually sat with them. But I can definitely say I fuck with Noxcape, I seen Hemp Club tho I like them. Of course I fuck with Frequent Flyers, as you can see by my visor right now. I fuck with IEKnows, his team has these clothes called Innovative Kingz, they have shirts and stuff I definitely fuck with them. That’s pretty much it.

Who’s your main producer?
I have a few producers I fuck with, when I first started releasing music I was fucking with BraveStarr, I fuck with Terio he produced with Lil B a few times. I fuck with the cooking dance hard body, Pretty Boy Swag shout out Lil B. I fuck with Rosebud Beats, producer from Miami. Sun Sidran, Mj Nichols, ItsGoodBeats, Lord Fresco, those are just some to name a few. I don’t want motherfuckers to steal my sound haha, Fresco from Orlando by the way.

Where were you born?
I was born in NY and moved here to Orlando, when I was 14.

How long has rapping been your full time job?
Well it’s not my full time job, I want it to be my full time as of right now. Last time it was my full time job it was like 2012 and shit I was signed to this Independent Label so I was in this Studio day in and day out that’s when I made “thoughts of a dreamer”. Music is definitely my passion, and something I invest a lot of my time and money into. Shit I want it to be my full time job by next year, for real though. I just work at the traphouse for now haha, naw but I do what I gotta do for real though. Just know I ain’t working in no restaurant, flipping no patties. No disrespect for the niggas that do that, but like since I do have to work for the system I make sure I work somewhere that pays good and makes me feel decent. I’ve been working since I was 16, I’ve had mad jobs. I’ve done the whole fast food, retail, chipotle, FedEx, desk job. I done did it all bro, I’m a jack of all trades. But like, all those jobs served a purpose, I made sure I invested my money back into my music. That helped me, keep putting out content and just material. But shit if this rap thing doesn’t really take off the way I see taking off, I’ll definitely just do it as a hobby and go to a technical school or something. I just know at the end of the day, I was born to create. That’s what this one psychic lady told me one time when she read my hand. She said I was born to create, and that I would be a recognized person for my music and she said I had a very good aura. I was like “aah lady, you know me so well”.

Are you in a relationship?
I’m single as fuck, and I have great taste in women.

Any last minute shout outs?
Shout outs Dave Chapelle, Will Smith, Allen Iverson, Erykah Badu, Jaden Smith bruh that nigga raw. Kendrick, J. Cole, Obama for being the first black president. Bill Clinton bruh, legendary. My mama. Goku, shout outs to anyone who fucked with Digimon growing up. All the original power rangers, especially the black ones, because them niggas was rare, I fucked with it. Shout out to anyone who makes good jazz music or listens to it, because jazz is beautiful. Shout outs to all my consciously spiritual people, the creative people, the free thinkers, the rebels, the innovators, yeah I think I’m good on that enough shout outs for now. Shout outs to God.
