Gotta Be Nice For What?: It’s Drake VS. Drake for Next Week’s No.1 Spot on Billboard Hot 100

It’s Drake vs. Drake for the No.1 spot! It looks as though the 6 God is dethroning himself from the top spot with his latest hit single “Nice For What.”

In 2016, Drake’s “One Dance” featuring WizKid and Kyla held a 10-week record for longest-leading number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then “God’s Plan,” released January 2018, shot straight to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and has been reigning at the top spot for 11 weeks straight. Although he’s having a pretty impressive run on the charts, according to the Billboard reports, Drake’s Lauryn Hill inspired “Nice for What” will debut and surpass his most recent release.

Drake can possibly become the first artist to replace himself with his own top charting single landing “Nice For What” as his fifth number one single on the charts and his third as a lead artist. Drizzy dropped his latest single on April 6th under Young Money/Cash Money/Republic Records, which is the first day of the streaming and sales tracking week used to project the Hot 100 charting results. Because of this, the single is expected to hit over 50M streams in the U.S. and sell over 75K downloads within it’s first week ending April 12th. Also bringing in over 25 million all format radio airplay spins by the end of the airplay tracking week ending on April 15th. In just the first three days, “Nice For What” garnered over 20M U.S. streams and over 40,000 downloads.

Based upon its rapid response from fans, the record should debut on next week’s Billboard Hot 100 chart dated for April 21st, which blends streaming, airplay and sales. If this is God’s plan, this means Drake will continue to make history on the charts! Check out the dope star-studded video for “Nice For What” below.
